Jason Floyd

Originally from California, the firm’s managing partner, Jason Floyd, moved to Kentucky an attended Centre College, where he received his B.A. in 1994, double-majoring in English and Government.  While at Centre, Jason was an All-Conference lineman for the Colonel’s football team, and Captain and an All-Conference outfielder for the baseball squad. Jason then attended the University of Louisville School of Law, earning his J.D. and passing the Bar in both Kentucky and Indiana in 1997, and serving as a contributor on the school’s Journal of Law & Education.

Jason joined Fulton Hubbard & Hubbard in 1997 as an associate. He is and has been heavily invested in service to the Bardstown and Nelson County communities, particularly in youth sports, having served as a youth football and baseball coach for many seasons, a Middle School football coach at Bardstown Middle School, served as President of the Nelson County Little League baseball program from 2012-2014, was on the Board of the Bardstown-Nelson County Youth Football League, and has served as official in various capacities. From 1999-2008, Jason was the “voice of high school football” as the play-by-play broadcaster for local radio station WBRT/WOKH, and since that time has served as the PA Announcer for local Bardstown High School football games.  Devoted to the schools, he has served two years as the Mock Trial team coordinator for Nelson County High School, served on the Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council at Bardstown Primary School for 5 years, and can be regularly seen volunteering his time at local schools assisting with classes on legal or constitutional issues.

Jason was a 2002 graduate of Leadership Nelson County, served previously on the Board of Big/Brothers/Big Sisters of Kentuckiana and was himself a Big Brother, was for several years the Nelson County representative on the Board of the Legal Aid Society of Louisville, Inc., as well as the Lincoln Trail Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.  He is a Christian and a Baptist, having served as a Deacon first at Bardstown Baptist Church and later was Chairman of Deacons at Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown, where he and his family are members.

Professionally, Jason concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, divorce and domestic issues, business disputes and litigation, personal injury, estate planning and probate, and civil litigation.  Made managing partner in 2008, he has argued several cases before the Kentucky Supreme Court, including Fenwick v. Fenwick, 147 S.W.3d 767 (Ky. 2003) and McFelia v. McFelia, 406 S.W.3d 838 (Ky. 2013), two cases of distinct importance in the area of family law.  He is licensed to practice in Kentucky state and federal courts, and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association (KJA), the National and Kentucky Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL and KACDL), and is a Kentucky Bar Fellow.  His representative clients include Salr River Electric Cooperative, Inc., Mago Construction Company, and Windsor Gardens Assisted Living Community, as well as several other local businesses and business professionals.

Jason has been married to his wife, Sara, for 18 years.  They have four (4) children, Sam, 13; Charlie, 11; John, 9; and Katy, 6. Among his personal interests are traveling, cooking, reading, music, aircraft and airshows, and coaching youth sports.


Fulton Hubbard & Hubbard has offices in Bardstown, KY and serves clients in the surrounding cities, such as Springfield, Lebanon, Marion, Elizabethtown and Hodgenville. Counties served are: Nelson, Washington and Hardin Counties.
